I am doing a long form post on the evolution of the turbo badge on cars, somewhat similar to the Anniversary car post by Vicente-Esteve. Post up your favorites to help me out - especially if you have a turbo car and have a good snap of the badge! Thanks Oppo!

I love those because it says so much without really saying anything. CX Turbo would have sufficed!

they day I find a decent running CX turbo....

Sadly, my car fails to say the word "turbo" anywhere on the exterior :/
Neither did my V70 AWD... The car before that had this:

SRT-4 (Hood Scoop)

Not off the back of mine, since I haven't been outside since 7:00AM, but it seems somewhere between the W123 and the W124 it went from "turbodiesel" to just "turbo":
Then in the late 90s Benz dropped the underlining thing and went to just letters.

I've got one of these laying around in my toolbox, it's off a 1987 Mazda 626:
Will see if I can find it and take a better shot for you. It's black with silver lettering.
And of course the French wouldn't let you forget when a car was turbocharged...

I'm partial to that on the UrQ steering wheel, as you might imagine. Also, the 2002 Turbo script in reverse is hard to argue with.

My 1988 Mazda 323 GTX doesn't have these stickers on the side anymore, but here's the best photo I could find on the Googles:

And for some reason they decided to also write both "Citroen" and "ABS", like someone in the Citroen factory was left loose with a giant one of these.

yeah, I remember that Ur-q wheel from my own. Even that early 5000/200T I like so much had a fantastic similar one on the gas and diesel ones...

What a sad time we live in when the once proud TURBO badges have been replaced buy some kinda of tree hugging Eco crap with a dang leaf on it.
![]() 04/06/2015 at 16:16 |

That W124 looks exactly like my old car - '87, dark blue, gray interior (probably MBTex).

![]() 04/06/2015 at 16:20 |

This is from a 2015 Malibu with the 2.0T on our showroom floor.

Also I don't think the ST twins have any EcoBoost badges, so why does the SHO?

![]() 04/06/2015 at 16:28 |

Yeah, I think we even have one on the Sonics with the 1.4T...I'll go see if it's different than the Malibu one... :)

yeah. It's strange to think at that time there was a few turbocharged cars that didn't have intercoolers. Like the 924 Turbo.
